Pu Yuan and stomach Capsule Combined with Western Medicine atrophic gastritis

Abstract atrophic gastritis, difficult to cure, easy to relapse, H. pylori infection has been shown to be the major causative factor, and plays an important role in the initial stage of gastric cancer, eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection cure atrophic gastritis, and may prevent gastric cancer. Combined with Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine Po yuan stomach Capsule in Treating Atrophic Gastritis than single medicine in accelerating the healing of the gastric mucosa, to enhance the role of Helicobacter pylori eradication, enhance immunity, reduce the recurrence of significant synergies.

   It used to between October 2009 to October 2010 combined with Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine Po yuan stomach Capsule atrophic gastritis, received satisfactory results are reported below.

   1 Materials and Methods

   1.1 General Information

   Choose between October 2009 to October 2010 to our hospital atrophic gastritis cases, 128 cases were randomly divided into two groups and the control group. 2 groups were no significant differences in gender, age, disease duration, disease connection, the two groups were comparable data by the statistical test. Eligible patients vital signs meet the following conditions: chronic course, arteriosesclerosis, only clinical manifestations of abdominal pain, bloating, belching, decreased appetite, indigestion and other symptoms, sometimes because of the destruction of the stomach factor, vitamin B12 malabsorption can cause anemia, clothing acid, gastric motility drugs can ease · were confirmed by gastroscopy gastric mucosal glands after repeated surface damage caused by shrink or even disappear, common pathological changes muscularis mucosa thickening; Helicobacter pylori bacteria (Hp) test, breath test positive for endoscopy, rapid urease test, three positive diagnosis.

   I. 2 treatment methods and evalsuation criteria

   Both groups received omeprazole 20mg, bid × 28d, clarithromycin 0.5g, bid × 7d. Levofloxacin 0.5g, qd × 7d, orally. Chinese medicine treatment group Pu Yuan and stomach four capsules, tid, treatment 28d. The evalsuation criteria: clinical cure: clinical symptoms and signs disappeared, endoscopy review gastric smooth mucosa edema clinical cure, effective: clinical symptoms and signs disappeared or were relieved, endoscopy showed mucosal thinning, or vascular revealed gastric mucosa was thin thick scaly, or a cobblestone, invalid: clinical symptoms and signs no significant relief, endoscopy biopsy of intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia and inflammatory response as invalid. Eradication of Helicobacter pylori diagnostic criteria: stopping a month later breath test and rapid urease test were negative, as H. pylori eradication [1].

   2 Results

   The Western group of 128 cases of clinical cure in 74 cases, effective 50 cases, 4 cases, the total efficiency of 96.87%. 128 cases in the control group were clinically cured 56 cases, effective in 40 cases, 32 cases ineffective, the total effective 75.00%. 2 group was the total difference was significant P <0.05. Western group of clinical cure in 74 cases, 4 cases of recurrence * after six months in the control group were clinically cured 56 cases, 24 cases of recurrence after six months, the difference was significant (P <0.001). Western group of patients treated with H. pylori infection has 95.18 percent negative, positive control group of patients treated have negative 76.56%. 2 groups was significant (p <0.05).

   3 Discussion

   Atrophic gastritis, difficult to cure, easy to relapse, H. pylori infection has been shown to be the major causative agent in gastric cancer and play an important role in the initial stage, the eradication of Hp infection cure atrophic gastritis, gastric cancer and can prevent the occurrence of [2 ]. The disease belongs to Chinese medicine, epigastric pain and visible swelling of the liver disease, usually caused by spleen and stomach, liver and spleen disorders, blood deficiency, leading to stagnation. At present, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) based triple therapy with bismuth-based triple therapy and to ranitidine bismuth citrate (RBC) based triple therapy. Hp eradication treatment are effective, so that greatly improve the clinical cure rate [3]. Doctors believe the atrophic gastritis occurs due to gastric and duodenal mucosa invasion factors damaging effect of self-defense and mucous membranes - loss of balance between the results of repair factors, may be enhanced invasion factors may also be protective factors weakened, or both, the main cause is the Hp infection and gastric acid secretion, other causes such as the use of NSAID drugs, heredity, stress, diet is also very common, however, depending on the patient regularity of life is poor, inadequate treatment and drug treatment, etc. reasons, the cure rate of patients is poor, high recurrence rate, and generates a greatly increased risk of drug-resistant strains. To this end, we in the western medicine combined with traditional Chinese medicine capsules and stomach Pu Yuan, received satisfactory results, Pu Yuan and stomach by the capsule dandelion, Corydalis, Cyperus, frankincense herb composed of 6, with liver and stomach, gas pain, to the effect of the new saprophytic, attending atrophic gastritis. Fang Corydalis Corydalis dehydrogenase containing triptolide on gastric protective effects, and adjust the gastric acid secretion, Tetrahydropalmatine anti-5-HT by, central analgesic and antiemetic effect, fumaric total alkaloids also has analgesic, sedative and hypnotic effects [5]. Cyperus volatile oil having a central inhibition and antibacterial effect, the alcohol extract has antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial effect, the liquid extract having a smooth muscle relaxation, sweet but also has a strong choleretic effect [6] . Dandelion on a variety of bacteria and virus inhibition, and inhibits gastric acid secretion and inhibition of histamine, pentagastrin and carbachol-induced gastric acid secretion, has anti-ulcer, and stomach laxative effect. Frankincense has analgesic effect, for the treatment of abdominal pain, and having reduced gastric free acid and a strong anti-ulcer effect [7]. Alum is a basic potassium aluminum sulfate, in vitro tests have hemostasis. Liquorice and total flavonoids FM100 on experimental gastric ulcer significantly inhibited the gastric juice, total acidity and free acidity decreased, promote healing of ulcers; 18-β- glycyrrhetinic acid hemisuccinate sodium bis with stomach binding the protease and reduce its activity. FM100 and ISL and other flavonoids (10-5) promote pancreatic secretion of gastric smooth muscle spasm solvability, inhibition of gastric acid secretion, have paid to protect the stomach membrane, anti-ulcer effect [8]. The Western group with Pu Yuan and stomach capsule, from the results of treatment, clinical cure rate seen with traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine combined total effective rate was better than western medicine control group were 96.15% and 76.9%, the difference was significant ; Special recurrence rate: Western group, the recurrence rate was 5.O%, while the control group, the recurrence rate was 30.76%, the difference was significant, Helicobacter pylori eradication rate: Western group H. pylori eradication rate was 96.12% in the control group H. Helicobacter pylori eradication rate was 77.56%. The difference was significant. The summary, the use of traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine treatment of atrophic gastritis, Chinese and Western medicine can play a synergistic effect, accelerate mucosal healing and improve Hp eradication rate and reduce the recurrence rate, which received satisfactory results. Particularly focus on the overall concept of Chinese medicine study, while righting the banishment of evil spirits, is in line with the concept of modern medical model. The study shows that Western medicine combined with traditional Chinese medicine capsules on Pu Yuan and stomach and duodenal ulcers (to atrophic gastritis) can significantly improve the cure rate, Helicobacter pylori eradication rate and reduce the recurrence rate, safe and effective, worthy of promotion.
